It also marked the birth of "a new generation of celebration" with the addition of more Co-Coordinators, tweaked festivities, & a more greatly enhanced relationship with our venue, The Rotunda. Since that fateful weekend in May 2011, we've been working feverishly on feedback we've received from our fans, combined with brand new opportunities, to produce what the world shall know as TAKII 13 ~United We Stand~! Returning to Philly, PA's own The Rotunda (newly-renovated & recently-expanded) on May 26th & 27th, 2012, our FREE ENTRY 13th season looks brightly towards the future with a spirit of life, love, & fusion festival equality.
In order to kick off this season right, we have revamped our #1 Contender's Pass & Vendor Table Slot pre-regging with even more nifty features & incentives! With the purchase of a Vendor Table Slot, you gain the invaluable ability to sell your swag, show off your art, promote your organizations, & you earn free #1 Contender's Passes in the process. When you pre-reg for a #1 Contender's Pass, you earn the right to participate in ALL of our "Pass-Exclusive" festivities (without paying $5.00 per festivity), gain access to a limited edition of our Hardcore Handbook, & are cordially invited to our post-TAKII "Domo Arigatou" party! July 12th, 2010 -- Upper Darby, PA -- The Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational has been anxious & is excited to announce the debut of its World Tour's "Summer Celebration 2010" summer party series! Announced at the conclusion of TAKII 9 ~Yume Ga Kanau~, the TAKII World Tour ~Summer Celebration 2010~ consists of multiple stops, all personifying the essence & spirit of "the world's most extreme Asian culture fusion festival" as enjoyed by TAKII faithful, minus the 6 month wait for another season itself. Choosing the venues for the inaugural outing of the TAKII World Tour ~Summer Celebration 2010~ & the exact festivities was a challenge, as many ideas & possibilities were considered. However, when all was said & done, 3 venues (& specific TAKII-style themes to go with each) were selected, with the 1st stop on this Tour coming by way of "Gaming Tourney Take-Over" on July 17th, 2010!!!!

In that spirit, TAKII 9 ~Yume Ga Kanau~ is excited to premiere a 1st in the Greater Philadelphia Region for an Asian-themed celebration: a collaborative tournament in both Capcom's Tatsunoko VS Capcom (Wii) & Super Street Fighter 4 (PS3), a centerpiece of our "Capcom Showdown SmackDown!" game show/tournament to be held this weekend!! From the official TAKII website: "Capcom has been a video game juggernaut for decades, creating timeless classics families all over the world have thoroughly enjoyed across generations of system. With the coming of TAKII 9, we once again celebrate the vast amount of characters from this gaming giant's empire in the form of "Capcom Showdown SmackDown"! #1 Contender's Pass holders will be chosen at random, taking part in a series of Capcom game-based challenges on systems ranging from old-school Arcade & PS3 & everything in-between. Finalists will be determined by each system that they triumph, with all of those victors battling it out for ultimate gaming glory (in a Tatsunoko VS Capcom & Super Street Fighter 4 finale) to crown our "Capcom Showdown SmackDown" World Champ!"

For fusion festival fanatics who aren't content with just being a TLO Video Lounge audience member, they can compete in any of our finely-tuned, innovatively-insane "Vid Game Tourneys", featuring a wide span of gaming consoles & action-packed titles:
1. “Blind Faith Challenge” 1: Raiden Fighters Aces (360)
a. OBJECTIVE = score the most points before you die in 1 full turn (or a level’s end).
b. RULES = blindfolded, 1 at a time, back of the line when your turn is done.
2. “Blind Faith Challenge” 2: Bomberman Land (Wii)
a. OBJECTIVE = last the longest in a series of battle royale-style matches.
b. RULES = blindfolded, 4P VS, random options for each match, losers go to the back of the line.
3. “Blind Faith Challenge” 3: Virtua Cop 2 (DC)
a. OBJECTIVE = score higher than your partner.
b. RULES = blindfolded, 2P co-op, random options, lowest scoring partner goes to the back of the line.
4. “Blind Faith Challenge” 4: BurgerTime (Intellivision)
a. OBJECTIVE = score the most points on Level 1.
b. RULES = blindfolded, 1 person at a time, default settings, turn ends when you die twice.
5. “Fusion Smash-Up Challenge” 1: DDR Konamix VS Marvel VS Capcom (PS)
a. OBJECTIVE = win in the face of obvious adversity.
b. RULES = 1 VS 1, coin flip determines if a normal controller, or dance pad is to be used for both games, 1st 30-mins = DDR Konamix, while 2nd 30-mins = Marvel VS Capcom, losers go to the back of the line.
6. “Fusion Smash-Up Challenge” 2: Rumble Roses XX VS Dead Or Alive 4 (360)
a. OBJECTIVE = rack up the most consecutive wins.
b. RULES = 1 VS 1, random options, winner selects the game to be played next.
7. “Fusion Smash-Up Challenge” 3: Wii Play VS Wii Sports (Wii)
a. OBJECTIVE = be the last person to have won a match.
b. RULES = 1 VS 1, standard VS, default options, games played will be rotated & TAKII Staff will randomly select the challenge to be played.
8. “Fusion Smash-Up Challenge” 4: F-Zero GX VS Sonic Riders (GC)
a. OBJECTIVE = be the last person in line to have won a race.
b. RULES = 4P VS, last person to have won select the game, random settings
Of course, it is worth mentioning that all rules for "Vid Game Free Play" will be in full-effect for our "Vid Game Tourneys", which includes using fusion festival-provided gaming equipment & copies of gaming titles. Coordinators also wish to fairly warn everyone that passionate gamers tend to dominate our entries for Tourneys each season, so as they say, "if you can't stand the heat, then you should get out of the kitchen" (LOL ^_^). Excessive douche-ry, however, isn't endorsed or tolerated by the festival.

Featuring "renovations & innovations that will blow away your expectations" through TAKII 8 ~HoliDAYZE~'s Music, Gaming, Vendor, & Omake Festivities, we're placing a special fusion festival focus on the true reason for this season....
In an unprecedented move, not only will Asian Karaoke Idol Invitational attendees be battling for glory & swag to be shared amongst themselves, but they will also have the chance to donate a portion of their winnings directly to TAKII 8's Charity Beneficiaries: individuals, families, & organizations that could use some extra lovin' this holiday season!
